YESTT is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to seeing a fundamental change in the way Trinidad and Tobago is governed. Ever since the first Elected Representative Legislature in 1956, we have seen changes in our country’s style of government, including:

• Achieving Independence in 1962 and
• Becoming a Republic in 1976
• The one common thread is the lack of consultation in our affairs, which separates the people from the State.

The primary way of dealing with the practice of non-consultation is for the people to demand their rights.

This is our country we must take responsibility for it. We can no longer claim to be victims of history, whatever that history may have been, and accept that we are alone with the future of our country in our hands. There is no longer a ‘big brother’ to look after us.

By having the process of Referendum and the power of Recall we take that step to real independence.

The people taking the decisions to chart their future is the purest form of Democracy. We are not in a position to just accept what is being told to us.

Our recent history has shown us that they are not all Honorable men and women, why should we entrust our future to them.
